A perfect stay
Lochsie cottage is truly a perfect accommodation for anyone travelling to Portree or beyond. We stayed for 2 nights but wish we could have stayed more. Very comfortable in terms of space and amenities, and easily accessible from the main highway. Sparkling clean.

Excellent cottage
We had a great time here and felt very welcome. The kitchen was great, the living room perfect to relax, nice bedroom and huge bathroom. Everything was perfectly clean. It’s a good starting point for exploring Skye if you have a car, Portree and a big supermarket are also pretty close. I’d definitely come here again, the cottage is just lovely.

Lochsie Cottage was perfect for our stay in Skye. The cottage is spacious, modern and spotless. Loved having the open plan kitchen / lounge and it was equipped with everything we needed. It's a lovely setting and it's nice having a table and chair outside for when the sun is shining. Ben made us feel very welcome. Only a 5 minute drive from Portree and a great central location for accessing all the main attractions on Skye.

A wonderful cottage! Peaceful & Tranquil!
We’ve stayed here for 4 nights & I can say without hesitation that this place ranks quite in my top 10! Plenty of communications prior to our arrival, easy to follow instructions on arrival. A bottle of wine awaited us, the cottage was nice & “toasty”, plenty of Room for the two us, spacious bedroom, very spacious bathroom & toilet & a generous living/kitchen area. Kitchen is fully equipped with everything you might need. Clean rooms, neutral decor. Really quiet & peaceful place. Ben, the manager was very helpful & communicated quite promptly! A little issue with the door got sorted on a Sunday evening at 18.00 hrs despite us saying it’d suffice if it was sorted after we’d left! Just one complaint from me! They didn’t have a “midge exclusion zone”!! (Just kidding!)

A tranquil, well kitted-out stay in Portree
Peinmore House was exactly what we needed - a five minute drive to civilisation (Portree) with all the features and facilities we needed for those days where we wanted to stay in and do nothing. It's so quiet here that we could sleep without ear plugs, a novelty for folks like us hailing from Manchester. The timeless decor was lovely, and on good-weather days, you can make use of the courtyard outside for breakfast. The WiFi was a blessing, given how patchy mobile signal can be in Skye, and the bed in our cottage is one of the most comfortable I've ever slept on. Peinmore House gets my heartfelt recommendation, an easy 5-stars.

Nice cottage inside, no need to bring anything, front door rattles in the wind though, also the lock is very close to the door knob and it's really awkward to try and turn, you also need to pull the door towards you a bit when locking/unlocking, one other thing to note, WiFi is non existent, there's a 4g router in the living room but as you can hardly get a mobile signal it's next to useless, we brought our firestick so we could watch Netflix but it just constantly buffered so gave up

We enjoyed our stay and consider the property excellent, but with one or two minor grumbles. The WiFi needs improvement. All very on off, working then not working. The "Your Welcome" tablet didn't work. When we arrived it was plugged in to the sockets to the left of the TV. So we ignored it. We worked out just prior to departure that you need to double push a plug into those two sockets before a connection to power is made. End of grumbles!

We were thrilled with our stay at this spacious well-equipped cottage! The birdfeeder outside our window sets such a peaceful atmosphere along with it’s distance from all other establishments. We requested help with use of the VCR and reported needing a mat to feel safe in the shower and the needs were met in less than a half hour. Great service.

Perfect Location
It is a lovely cottage. Has everything you might need. We had issues with the “Welcome” tablet. It was really never resolved. As Americans we were sadly unfamiliar with the washer/dryer together thing so there was a learning curve. The cottage was clean but could use a regrout in the shower. We had a wonderful stay and customer service was very good. Would stay again.

It feels like you are in the middle of the countryside but only a few minutes drive to places to eat in Portree. Sheep grazing a hundred metres away. Ben is an exceptional host, very quick to reply to messages and very helpful with extra information about Skye. We would not hesitate to recommend Lochsie Cottage to anyone visiting Skye.

Having said that, they couldn't have been more responsive. The unit is totally comfortable and well stocked. The photos are representative of the space. The location was perfect. My girlfriend and I stayed here in the beginning of February. The hosts were helpful regarding check in and recommending local places to eat, the place was very tidy and clean, and a nice little complimentary bottle of wine was included to top it off. Kitchen is fully equipped for self catering and the shower was suberb. Unfortunately, we were woken up both mornings around 8:30am with drilling/hammering and general noise from the grounds and although it didn't impact the stay all that much, that factor was a little disappointing.

There were also a range of books and DVDs to choose from and the welcome bottle of wine provided a nice touch. The location, outside Portree, was nice and quiet. Our host Ben was excellent, kind and helpful and responded very quickly to any queries we had. We are very happy to recommend this cottage.

Peaceful, tranquil, and only a five minute drive to civilisation, our stay at Lochsie Cottage, at Peinmore House, was exactly what we needed. The cottage was well finished, well equipped and we didn't want for anything. The washing machine was a god send after many muddy walks, and the WiFi was great, given that mobile signal and data is patchy in Skye. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. 5-Stars.

The cottage was very well maintained and very clean and homely feeling, the heating was also on for us arriving which was lovely, the bed is very comfortable also! The cottage had a selection of dvds and books and a complimentary bottle of wine. I would recommend to anyone and will not hesitate returning! It's a quiet and pretty location off the road into Portree only about two miles out. We thoroughly enjoyed the lovely setting - sufficiently outside of Portree (couple of miles) to feel like you are in the country, yet close enough to quickly nip in for any needs (food, dining, gas, etc.). A great spot that allows exploration in all directions to enjoy all that the Isle of Skye has to offer. The cottage was private, spacious and very enjoyable. Great place to spread out and recover a bit in the middle of a 30-day trip with many stops. Loved the curb appeal of the property and the beautiful inner courtyard. The hosts provided clear and regular communications - very helpful. Peinmore House will definitely be a stop we will do again on our future travels.

Fabulous cottage in a great location , a perfect home from home.
Positive: Location was perfect for exploring the island. very quiet but close to Portree. Furniture and all fitting were of a very good quality with everything you could want. It was very warm and cosy, with plenty of hot water. Negative: The bathroom needs a shelf for our essential bits and pieces. The bedroom could do with a blind for the courtyard area as the security light shines until quiet late. More instructions on using the appliances and heating, they are noted as being on the tablet but they are not. The washing machine broke whilst we were there but it was attended to straight away and did not spoil our visit.

On the whole an enjoyable stay
Positive: The cottage was warm and had everything you would need. Negative: There seemed to be a black mould/mildew problem in most rooms and it could have been cleaner. Spiders and cobwebs around the bedside cabinets and black marks on the skirting boards in the corners of the rooms. We also had problems with parking and access. There were cars abandoned in the middle of the driveway on occasion proving it difficult to park. Driveway was cluttered, muddy and messy.

Positive: This is an absolute gem of a property, located within minutes of Portree and a perfect base to explore all that Skye has to offer. The cottage has been done up to an excellent standard with all modern amenities and is located in a very quiet spot, perfect for a relaxing getaway. We felt very welcomed by the hosts and would definitely come back & stay here again when in Skye. Negative: Nothing really but if I had to pick something quite trivial, it would be that check-in was not possible until 6pm presumably due to additional measures required to clean the property prior to arrival. This didn't prove an issue for us as we had a long drive and didn't arrive until close to 7pm but please note.

Positive: The cottage is in a peaceful location just a couple of miles south of Portree which makes it ideally suited for touring. It is well equipped and comfortable place to return to at the end of the day. We stayed for 5 nights (out of a total of 18) and it was great to be able to self cater rather than eat in restaurants. Positive: Overall this was superb apartment 3 kms outside Portree was in a tranquil setting.It faced a central garden with a range of spring flowers and there was table and chairs at the front and back where there was also a garden.You could also walk down to a large walled garden part of the main house. The apartment was very light and spacious.The kitchen was very modern with a washer dryer and a dishwasher and fully equipped.The bathroom had a separate shower and bath and the products were highly reputable `Highland Soap Company. Ben managing agent was very empathic particularly when we lost the front door key - it was not an issue and thankfully it was not a security key On observing the numerous generic look alike B&B dominating the outskirts of the town we were pleased with our choice Negative: The ironing board needs a padded cover. The bed itself was comfortable although a bedroom that size you would expect a king bed.The duvet itself and pillows were off poor quality and need attention The cushions on the two sofas were natural feather down but had disintegrated so they had no shape and although the sofas were in good condition you sunk into them and there was no firmness These are minor annoyances but when you are staying three nights you notice this in terms of level of comfort but comfort is important when you are paying £250 per night

Wonderful Cottage
We spent 6 nights at Lochsie and would do it again! Don and Ben were so great to communicate with and were always responsive. One night there was a power outage on the island and Don brought over candles and matches if we needed them. Two suggestions, one being for the ladies. Add a mirror above the wicker chair in the bedroom. That is where you plug in the hair dryer and curling iron. The cords are too short to reach the mirror above the dresser. Secondly, the large rocks around the driveway circle can present a problem . We had issues getting out of the drive on our last day and a rock got stuck under the car. Fortunately we were able to dislodge the rock and another person helped move it for us. Other than those few things we loved our stay at Lochsie.

Beautiful location and comfortable , well equipped cottage. Just beware of the awkward turn off the main road down to the property. There is an alternative route if you turn off at the signpost to the camping pods. The road is rougher but the turn on and off the A87 much easier to negotiate.

Access to groceries, restaurants and shops was a short drive (but we did find that, even early evening in mid-week, the restaurants were all booked well in advance - making it especially helpful to have the nicely appointed kitchen at the Cottage as a back-up plan). Positive: Loved the ease of the self check-in/out, it made it very convenient. The little “extras” were wonderful, and shows the property owners really care about their place and ensuring their guests enjoy the stay. We loved the space of the place, it allowed us to have our first lounging and eat in evening. And the laundry facilities were fantastic for mid-way through our journey. I’d definitely recommend this place to others. The only surprise was that it was about a 6 min drive from Portree, or about a 45 min walk along the highway from downtown. Location is slightly far for walking to town, but would certainly be do-able. Was a very quick drive to all I needed in town, and easy to access places I wanted to see. Had an issue with the washing machine, which was handled in 10 min. Someone quickly came to look at it and gave me an easy option for laundry when it proved to not be reparable during my stay. It's right off the main road, but peaceful and has beautiful grounds. The cottage had everything we needed to be comfortable when we weren't out sightseeing. The washer/dryer was much appreciated as this was mid-trip on a long journey. The newly remodeled kitchen was so nice that we ended up cooking every night instead of hassling with reservations at restaurants. We would definitely recommend staying at Lochsie Cottage.

We recently spent a week in the Lochsie Cottage. It is very comfortable, well equipped and was spotlessly clean when we checked in. The cottage is a great location from which to explore the Isle of Skye. It is a very short drive into Portree for groceries or restaurants. We found downtown Portree to be congested with people, cars and insufficient parking so it was nice to get away to the solitude offered by the cottage. If I could make one suggestion to the owners it would be to include in the cottage a binder with operating instructions for the appliances and perhaps a little info about the area (recommended restaurants, etc). We have stayed in a lot of VRBO’s and the appliances in each one are just a little different. While it was fairly easy to figure things out, some instructions would have just made it quicker. Most VRBO’s have such a binder. It’s a small thing but just a nice touch. Overall, we were totally pleased with our accommodations and would certainly recommend Lochsie Cottage to anyone visiting Skye.

I recently stayed with my child and baby. It is spacious and clean with everything you would need in a home away from home. The property is just as it appears online, well appointed and comfortable. It has washer/dryer combo, dishwasher, microwave, oven, stove top, fridge with small freezer. The location is quiet and close to town. I loved our stay here.

Positive: La casa es preciosa, en una zona muy tranquila y pintoresca, ideal para utilizar como base para recorrer toda la isla. Está perfectamente equipada para una estadía larga o corta (lava secarropas, lavavajillas, etc). La entrada y salida autónoma es muy cómoda al igual que el espacio de estacionamiento dentro de la propiedad. Nos enamoramos de Skye! Nos encantaría volver y sin duda lo haríamos a Lochsie Cottage. Das Objekt war schön, gut ausgestattet und wunderbar gelegen. Allerdings hatten wir ein massives Ameisen-Problem. Meine Nachricht an die angegebene Tel.Nr. wurde nicht beantwortet, leider. Da wir nur 3 Tage dort waren, hat es uns nicht gestört. Davon abgesehen, hat das Objekt etwas muffig gerochen, was ggf. dem Alter geschuldet war aber der alte Teppich hat es nicht verbessert. Etwas unangenehm, gerade wenn wieder zuhause angekommen, alle Klamotten nach altem Haus muffen.

Absolutely exceptional.
Positive: Location was minutes from Portree and felt more rural than staying in town. Hosts were exceptional and everything was perfect. You can walk the grounds and see the Old Man of Storr from the road, and have mountain views at the doorway. Excellent location, excellent hosts, above and beyond! Negative: No comment
