The Barn is a great place to stay if you are looking to have a spacious quiet location.
The views are spectacular, on a clear day you can see across to the mainland and the mountains there. There is a path down to the shoreline at the end of the track which is very popular with tourists and a known beauty spot on the Island.
The Barn it's self is fully equipped. The kitchen has a dishwasher, fridge freezer, oven and hob wooden work surfaces and feels homely.
A great place for entertaining and games or for just relaxing.
There are 2 separate bathrooms so no cuing.
There is a working fire place for cosying up in the winter.
The views from the bedrooms fill you with peace. Here the world is a bit more raw, a bit more exciting and exposed.
Free WIFI, Sky TV and the towels and linen are provided for you. We have had some great feedback from guests staying here and we look forward to having you enjoy it as much as they did.
Pet Friendly - Pets are allowed in this property but they will be charged at £10 per night per pet to a maximum of 3 pets. We kindly ask if you can keep your pet off the furniture and beds for the duration of your stay. Must be crated or kenneled if left unattended, and must be on a current veterinarian approved flea & tick treatment.

Tolles Haus mit kleinen Nachteilen. Wir brauchen keine 2 Badewannen und hätten eine Dusche bevorzugt - besonders mit 2 Senioren. Auch könnten die Türen leiser sein, damit nicht das ganze Haus nachts wach wird, wenn jemand zur Toilette muss.
Die Küche ist sehr gut ausgestattet - und das Haus ist sehr gemütlich.
Die Fallgrube 10 Meter von der Haustüre entfernt riecht und läuft über.

The Barn is in a great location for nearby attractions and getting into Portree! The house was extremely clean and cozy and when we had an issue with the heating the host responded quickly and it was fixed immediately. The views are amazing and it was great having the beautiful hike down to the water just steps away. Note that there were two gates that had to been opened in order to access the property so someone must be physically able to get those open in order to let a car through. That wasn’t an issue for us though, and we had a fantastic stay!

3 of us stayed for 2 nights. The Barn was exactly like in the photos. It was clean, comfortable very quiet. The outlook is beautiful and you are remote enough to feel secluded, but close enough to Portree for supplies.

We arrived in the dark, but still managed to find our way ok. Just be cautious as there's a gate to open and close once you're on the private road.

The sheep roaming around and view of a waterfall in the distance made it super special.

It was also a good location to get up to Staffin for dinner and then to launch off for our trip to Mealt Falls, the Quairang and Fairy Glen. The Old Man of Storr is also super close.

You may find that if you're above about 5"9' you will struggle to live in the upstairs bedrooms because of the sloped ceiling, but there's a downstairs bedroom which would be fine.

My only other Skye tip - make sure you take the details of the local mechanic. Pot holes are a bit of an issue in a few spots and we ended up with a flat.

We had a wonderful stay here for a few days on Skye. The house is beautifully situated in a very peaceful location with all the beauty of Skye at the doorstep. The location is within easy distance to Portree and the Old Man of Storr, and the house itself is incredibly comfortable and well catered for.

We stayed as a family of 3 with my parents also, so a total of 5 of us. It was perfect for our family catch up (each of us coming from different corners of the world to reunite here).

We had an equal balance of adventure and rest to connect at meal times after a day of adventure. We loved the local museums, dinosaur beaches and the fairy Glen.

3 nights was a good amount of time but we could have easily spent 4-5 nights to have some proper down time in between the day trips.

The only issue we experience was occasional hot water running out sooner than expected so we had to time our showers and baths so everyone got a chance to bathe. It is an old stone cottage that has a beautiful reno so I guess it has some quirks and we can't expect hot water in abundance.

Die Bilder von der Unterkunft & Umgebung sind sehr schön, aber die Wirklichkeit ist besser.
Der hohe Unterkunft Preis ist gerechtfertigt und jeden Cent Wert, da diese Erinnerungen & Gefühle für immer bleiben..

We loved this place and as we had cold wet weather the woodburner was welcomed. It was nicely appointed and homely. It was as advertised although we felt the upstairs bathroom needed towel rails as there was nothing much to hang towels on and no bathroom mat was supplied. The hot water ran out up there one night. It is also not suitable for someone very tall to shower up there as the sloping roof is directly above the shower over the bath.

A must stay if you're on the Isle of Skye! One of the best Airbnbs I've stayed in. The accommodation was very cosy, warm and comfortable, making you feel right at home. It is very private and away from the tourist spots, allowing you to enjoy the unique and spectacular views.

The accommodation is well supplied and has everything you need for the stay. Make sure you take a walk down the road to the beach. It is a steep walk but well worth the views and discovery of dinosaur footprints at low tide.

The house has low ceilings so just be mindful if you're tall!

Die gemütliche Einrichtung, der wahnsinnige tolle Ausblick, auch wenn es nicht wie gedacht, mit direkten Meerblick war , sondern nur mit Teilblick. Es war unbeschreiblich vor dem Haus auf der Bank zu sitzen und diese beeindruckende Landschaft zu genießen. Highlite waren für uns die süssen Schafe vor dem Haus ,manchmal auch im Garten :-) In unmittelbarer Nähe des Hauses führt ein Weg zum "Brother's Point".
Das Geschirr vor allem Kochtöpfe ist nicht auf die Anzahl der möglichen Bewohner ausgelegt.

If I was planning to come again soon to the Isle of Skye, I would keep secret this place so that nobody knows what a hidden gem it is. Out of 12 days in Scotland, the time spent here was the greatest.
The house is new and very clean, very cosy. It has all amenities you could ask for -- except for an espresso machine but lots of hotels don't get that either. Once you step in you feel like you are at home and that is reallyvthe best way to put it. There's a fireplace, dishwasher, washing machine, board games and impressive collection of DVDs
It is 400 m from the main road but perfectly quiet and secluded, like you were away from the world. You can gaze at the sheep grazing all day long, on the hilld in front of the house.
Brother's point, which is one of the most spectacular viewpoints on the island, is right down the stairs to the beach. We went at sunset and we were completely alone.
15 minutes to the south there's The Old Man of Storr, and 20 mins drive to the north there's the Quairiang. The house is right on the Trotternish loop.
If you love wilderness this is the place for you. If on the other hand you are a town person, it is not.
I would return to Skye just to stay here again.
We had issues with the hot water which were solved only the next day. I do not blame this on our hosts however, the plumber did come as soon as we reported but it was not easy to fix. They were prepared to offer us another accomodation if it did not get fixed.

This is the kind of place you want to keep hidden so that only you and your friends know about it.
The property is beautiful, very well maintained and equipped. It felt pretty new to me. The only thing missing was a coffee machine.
The view over the sheep dotted hills is lovely. You cannot see the sea, except for a tiny little spot, but the way down to the beach takes 10 minutes.
You are close to the main road (like 300 m) but it is still very quiet and the feel is of seclusion.
No shops nearby. The closest town is Portree, 29 min away, so if you are into town settings this is not the place for you.
For nature lovers the location is excellent, it is 15 min away from The Old Man of Storr and 15 min away from The Quaraing, which are the two most famous hiking areas on the island. The viewpoint of Brother's point is right down the beach.
It is perfectly situated if you want to do the Trotternish loop.
We had one small issue, the central heating and hot water broke down after the first evening, so we had 24 hrs without any hot water. We used the fireplace for heating and it was okay. We did miss the hot water. The accomodation was ready to offer us another place to stay of it did not get fixed but fortunately it did on the next morning.
Highly recommended.

The Barn was so wonderful for our family. We are a family of 5 with 2 teen girls and a 12 yo boy. The location is amazing. You can walk out the front door and hike Brother’s Point and sit by the sea. Old Man Storr and The Quiraing are 10 & 15 minutes away. Dunvegan was 1 hour and Uig/Fairy Glen about 50 mins. I can’t stress how nice it is to be closer to the sites. Also, there is a small grocery 5-10 mins up the road in Staffin. We only went into Portree once for a dinner reservation and that we almost cancelled. We had sheep right out our front door. The Barn itself is so cozy and peaceful. Our kids loved their skylights and rooms. I loved sitting on the couch with coffee and my view of the highlands, small sea view, and sheep. I did not want to leave when it was time to go. One day we will come back to the Barn.

Amazing! The house is so cozy, beautifully laid out and well appointed. Great mattresses, towels, water pressure, etc. But really it's the incredible views from every single window (green rolling hills dotted with white sheep and the ocean out in the distance) and being along the path to Brother's Point that makes this place so special. We stayed in 3 rentals during our UK trip and this was by far the best and we all wish we had booked it for longer. We certainly hope to be back some day! One word of warning, we had a small SVU rental (Nissan Qashqai) and it just barely fit down the road to the rental - definitely wouldn't recommend a larger vehicle when visiting. Also, it's a good 25-30 min drive to Portree with limited food options closer by, so I would definitely recommend grabbing some groceries on your way there - you're going to want to hangout at/near 'the barn'. The tap water there was delicious, so no need for bottled water.

You absolutely cannot beat the location of this home--close to Fairy Glen, Fairy Pools, minutes from Quiraing and Man of Storr. Quiet and private, with rolling hills as your view and a few minute hike down tot he coastline. The house was spotless and comfortable. This was our favorite property that we stayed at during our two week tour of Scotland. Highly recommend, and we would stay here again in a heartbeat!

We had the most wonderful stay, the property was immaculate and very homely with everything you could possibly need. Lovely shower gel, shampoo and conditioner included so you don’t need to bring your own and the kitchen is fully equipped with everything you could possibly need. Hair dryers are also at the property so again you can really travel light.

The location was ideal for us to get around and sight see. We came for the half marathon in Portree so it was great to be close enough for easy access but remote enough to see the sights and feel like we were in our own little world.
I would definitely stay at the house again!
Check out Jans Cakes for some delicious treats and the RHS gardens at Dunvegan castle are a must!

Our hosts were amazing and the property was the perfect balance for our multigenerational family vacation and pilgrimage to learn about our family roots. Amazing renovation of a historic barn into a modern home with a full kitchen. Behind the cottage is a popular trail thru a sheep pasture that leads to a spectacular, wild coastline. Hosts went out of their way to make our stay successful. Would recommend that visitors either hire a driver or plan to rent a car, because it’s a very long walk to the closest village. Overall, a magical place - so glad it was available!

Amazing location and close to many hikes and sites. Loved the brothers point trail right outside the airbnb. About 15 minutes from Portree. The most beautiful views were right outside the home and the house itself was very clean and had everything we needed, even games and puzzles to do during our stay. We would come back again next time we are in the isle of Skye. One warning is that the airbnb is tucked down a gravel road with holes, it was not a problem in our suv but may be an issue for smaller cars

Beautiful house the pictures don't do it justice. The setting is amazing.
Only difficulty was that I struggled to get in touch with the owner once booked as the contact details on VRBO were not correct and I had no response to messages sent on VRBO. I had to Google the place to get the correct contact details. A confirmation directly from the owners would have been appreciated as otherwise you won't receive any instructions until 72h prior. I didn't want to wait this long to find out if there was a problem as it wouldn't have given us long to deal with any issue.
Once I made contact they were very responsive and helpful.

Lovely property, well maintained, very clean and well kept. We stayed when the weather was quite rainy and extra blustery, so the only small challenge was navigating our car down the single track ruts to the property (standing water hid the potholes!) It is extremely secluded which we loved.

The cottage was absolutely lovely. Very clean, cosy and comfortable, perfect for our family holiday. The kitchen was well equipped, the bedrooms very comfortable and the bathrooms had beautiful toiletries. There was a great walk down to the shore straight from the cottage although other walks further afield required use of the car.
The road leading to the cottage was a little tricky if there were walkers and although the garden was fenced, our dogs could have jumped over it. However, this did allow for some visits from local sheep into the garden which was very nice!

This place was an absolute gem. The setting was spectacular- our son loved the sheep grazing just outside the door! Most of the excursions we planned for Isle of Skye were on the peninsula so it was great being closer to everything than if we had stayed directly in the town of Portree. Our stay at The Barn was magical. The views were spectacular and the stars at night were amazing. The only downside was that we only stayed 3 nights and could’ve stayed a week. This place is everything we wished it to be, peaceful and idyllic. Sitting outside in the evening in a private garden listening to the distant waterfall from the stream looking at the amazing night sky full of stars, the local walks were outstanding (go early to avoid the rush we found before 9 was good) and be prepared to pay for parking 🅿️, there’s a local shop 10 mins away in car with everything from bread to paint and we advise you check out Portree theatre to see what’s on, we were able to see Tim Vine live which was brilliantly funny. I could go on and on, simply fantastic!

Bellissimo alloggio in mezzo ai pascoli di pecore e vicino alla scogliera! Posto paradisiaco molto comodo per vedere la fairy glen, old man of storr e per visitare Portree. Ovviamente si è in mezzo al nulla, il bar e market più vicino è a Staffin (meno di 10 min in macchina) però valutarlo se si vuole uscire fuori a cena. La casa è fornitissima quindi se uno lo sa si può organizzare per fare la spesa e cucinare in casa! Casa come da descrizione, camere molto molto belle e ben arredate! Il proprietario ci ha fatto trovare la legna pronta per riscaldarci con il caminetto!

When we first pulled down the driveway we knew we made the right decision. The photos do not do justice for the spectacular view we had for the week. We were greeted with a gift from the host that was just what we needed after a 5 hour drive from the airport. If you are looking for a place that is in the center of skye look no further. When we return we will defintely be seeing if this house is availble for us again.

Die Lage und die Atmosphäre waren einmalig, wir hatten niedliche Schafe direkt im Garten und einen wunderbaren Ausblick. Die Küche war für uns perfekt ausgestattet, das Wohnzimmer sehr gemütlich und die Betten in den Schlafzimmern sehr bequem. Ich habe im Urlaub noch nie in einem so schönen Haus geschlafen und hatte auch noch nie so ein gemütliches Schlafzimmer direkt unter dem Dach mit zwei Fenstern, von wo aus man in der Ferne sogar das Meer sehen konnte. ich würde jedem empfehlen, dieses Haus zu buchen, es ist absolut einsam und erholsam.

We absolutely loved staying at The Barn. My family had ample and comfortable room to gather and to retreat. The rooms and spaces were cozy and clean and incredibly family friendly. We made and shared meals together in the well equipped kitchen and meandered the very near shore walk each day of our stay. It was sunny and stunning the entire visit! The property location is spectacular, as we were just “out of the fray” but near enough to enjoy so much that the island invites and highlights. All of my children (three teens!) said the Barn (and Skye) was their most favorite stop and stay along our UK visit. We would highly recommend a stay here.

The house has everything you need except food. Make sure you arrive well supplied because it’s a drive back to portree if not. Beautiful views right out the front door- house is comfy and snug and cools down quickly if it’s warm. Beds were comfy-great towels. I’m finding that house rentals here all have tea, instant coffee, a kettle and a french press. You’ll need ground coffee for the french press. Big fridge and freezer. Two bathtubs. We had a great time here and I didn’t want to leave!

This 3 bedroom, two bath stone barn has plenty of space for sleeping and two large couches in the living room for down time. Beautiful views from the front door and all windows. The location is right on a hiking trail to brothers point. There is a gate to the barn property and the house faces away from the hiking trail so we really didn’t notice the hikers. Arrive with food! The kitchen is well equipped but it’s a drive to Portree for the nearest food shop. There is a small one in staffin that has essentials. The Quiraing hike is the most beautiful in the area although challenging. We went to Lealt falls and the Old Man of Storr as well.

Heavenly property, felt like home - very comfortable, quiet, well appointed, clean, deceptively big on the inside. Location has incredible vistas and bonus walking access to Brothers Point - a hidden gem in our opinion and a great place to explore the Skye coastline without popping into the car. The picnic table is a great touch. The location (north of Portree on the upper part of the Trotternish peninsula) is ideal to access nearby hillwalking trails, the more common tourist routes as well as the less traveled routes. Note that most of the roads in these areas are single track, making for some fun driving. We didn't have dark skies given the time of year, but we expect the night sky in the darker months must be incredible here. We're bookmarking this property as one of our "must returns." Thank you for helping us make some wonderful memores on this trip.

Our family of 5 (with 3 teens) agreed The Barn was an incredibly comfortable, inspiring and beautiful spot to land while traveling Skye and beyond. The home was very easy to get in and out. We enjoyed absolutely gorgeous weather, hiked Man of Storr, and meandered several nearby walking paths to shores (dinosaur tracks!) and also few ruins. Most importantly we savored all the clean air and glorious open spaces. Thank you for sharing your space— our shoulders dropped a few inches and we all just relaxed and rebooted. We would return in a heart beat!

This place is so sweet and homey and we loved it. We had stopped at House of Bruar on our way from Edinburgh and had picked up cheeses and crackers, meats and jams and bread for a wonderful charcuterie dinner the first night. It was a great home base for exploring Skye. 20 mins outside of Portree. The hike down to the water and the attached trail was worth the stay in itself. It was lambing season so baby lambs everywhere, it was wonderful. To find go through the gate you come to and continue to drive down and it’s on the right, The Barn. We loved having three bedrooms. The 2nd bathroom is upstairs through one bedroom so that might not be ideal in some situations. Also the twin bed mattress really needs to be replaced. Very thin and uncomfortable but we made it work. We would stay here again if traveling to Skye if we changed the mattress upstairs or just came my husband and myself. Our mothers had the two upstairs bedrooms. Our master bedroom bed was very comfortable.

Location is amazing, right at the start of the walk down to Brothers’ Point. And only a short
drive from the Quiraing walks. It is beautiful both inside and outside. Totally enjoyed spending 3 days in this clean, comfortable and well-appointed accommodation. Water pressure in showers is very good too! Would stay again!
It somehow lacks the personal touch. Perhaps bec it’s managed by a management company.
The fixed soap dispensers in the shower are a little difficult to manage.

Emplacement super ! Dans une voie sans issue (il faut ouvrir une barrière pour y avoir accès, mais un panneau indique le nom de la location), on est déporté de la route principale et donc pas de bruit de circulation. Les enfants peuvent sortir sans danger de la maison.
Maison confortable, on a tous pris nos marques sans problème.
Des produits d'hygiène Arran sont nombreux et disponibles dans toutes les salles de bain et près de l'évier, très agréable !
La maison est à 15 minutes en voiture de Portree, il y a un arrêt de bus à 10 minutes à pied de la maison. La ligne de bus passe du lundi au samedi. Une tablette permet de se faire livrer si on le souhaite.
Plage à 5 minutes à pied, brothers point à 15/20 minutes à pied.
Les moutons pour voisins !
Dans la chambre avec la grande fenêtre, des rideaux plus foncés ou occultants permettraient d'avoir un peu plus d'obscurité pour dormir (nous avons l'habitude de dormir dans le noir).
Dans la cuisine, il pourrait y avoir deux tabourets (seulement 4 chaises et nous sommes 6). Nous avons pris les petites chaises des chambres de l'étage car l'espace manque un peu avec 6 chaises pour passer sinon.
Malgré tous les équipements de la cuisine, un mixeur aurait été utile pour faire une soupe.
Nous n'avions pas compris qu'il s'agissait d'une voie sans issue peu large, nous avons un grand véhicule et il a fallu manoeuvrer un peu pour le garer dans la cour à côté de la maison.

The location was outstanding and we really enjoyed our stay at The Barn. We would highly recommend your place to others. The beds were excellent except for the single beds which were not large enough for an average sized adult. The French Press was nice but it would be so much better to have either a Nespresso or a similar type of machine. It would be good to invest in a few more kitchen amenities, eg, knives that are sharp, a carrot peeler (it was broken), some steak knives.

This was the very best place, combination of location and Amenities that we stayed on our visit to Scotland( Islay, Glencoe, Skye and St. Andrews) The Location is truly remarkable! Sheep right outside the yard, Trailhead to Brother’s point and remarkable Tide pools at a 1min walk
Outside the gate. Old Man of Storr and Quirang are each 15 minutes away by car. Both are Beautiful hikes, but Quirang is breathtakingly other-worldly, the stuff of fairy glens and gallient men of old.

Neist point Ligjthouse is also worth the drive to the other side of the Island. Be sure you explore the rocks! It’s the highlight of the stop. We could have stayed on Skye another week. 3 days was not enough, so many other beaches and nooks to explore. Highly recommend Skye Weavers it’s a wonderful place to hear and see the peddle powered loom process and buy a real “highland wool” scarf or stoll Or gorgeous Blankets!
The house is very well Equipped and had a real wood burning Fireplace which was a highlight.

Tout! Cette petite maison est parfaite pour un séjour de plusieurs nuits. On s'y est sentis comme chez nous. La propreté était irréprochable, les chambres très confortables. Nous avions à disposition de quoi allumer le feu durant tout notre séjour et une bonne bouteille de vin blanc nous attendait à l'intérieur.
Il y fait très calme, le seul bruit que l'on entend est celui de la cascade qui coule à quelques dizaines de mètres.
La maison se trouve à quelques minutes à pieds d'une petite plage.
La situation est vraiment idéale pour découvrir Skye.
Notre séjour dans cet endroit était magique. Nous étions vraiment tristes lorsque nous avons du la quitter. Nous espérons pouvoir y revenir un jour!

"The Barn" ist ein aussergewöhnliches Mietobjekt in sehr ruhiger Lage mit Blick auf Schafherden und dem Meer. Das Haus liegt nur wenige Minuten vom Aussichtspunkt "Brother's Point" entfernt, bei guter Sicht sieht man auf das Massiv des "Old Man of Storr".

If you're visiting Isle of Skye, you need to stay here at the Barn! 4 of stayed in the cottage for 4 nights and easily would have spent 2 weeks without any regrets! You approach the long driveway to a gate, making it feel private and secluded but it's close to many main attractions. Within 30-40 minutes or less, you can get to the Old Man of Storr, Kilt rock and Mealt Falls, The Quiraing and the Fairy Glen. The driveway to the Barn itself ends at another hike to Brother's Point where you can try to find the dinosaur prints in the stone near the ocean! We loved enjoying wine on the picnic table in the evenings listening to the nearby waterfall and lots of our sheep neighbors! If you're lucky to have clear skies at night like we did, you'll be able to easily see the milky way and millions of stars at night. The place was immaculately clean, had a lovely bottle of wine welcoming us upon arrival and lots of cozy couches to relax on. There's even a handy tablet with videos on how to use the appliances, adjust the heat etc.--- especially great if your vacation brain can't figure out how to turn the microwave on! It's only 30 minutes to Portree (if that) but I highly recommend eating at SKYE restaurant in the Flodigarry hotel. Only 17 mins north, it has beautiful grounds, breathtaking views and an awesome ambiance with all locally sourced food (lots of seafood!). Now that I've dragged on for a bit, I hope you have already booked your stay here, because we could not rave any more!

Die Ausstattung mit Küchengeräten war sehr gut (Toaster, Mikrowelle, Backofen etc.). Alle Geräte waren sehr sauber und in einem guten Zustand.
Das Haus ist sehr schön und gemütlich eingerichtet. Die Lage ist sehr gut.
Die Küchenausstattung ist ein wenig verbesserungswürdig. Sowohl Geschirr wie auch größere Töpfe wären sehr von Vorteil, erst recht, wenn man das Haus mit mehr als Personen bewohnt.

Fantastic setting and fabulous lodging, one of the best properties I have ever booked. The location is right at the beginning of the Brother’s Point hiking trail, a 2 mile out and back hike (steep, wet, wear hiking boots) to the beach, (with an extra challenging climb to the dinosaur footprints for those capable) shows Skye in all of its beauty and majesty. Friendly sheep abound the property. Lodging looks rustic from outside but inside is spacious, modern and well appointed, perfect for 6 adults.

We had a great time visiting Skye and taking our time exploring the island during our 4-day visit. The Barn is a great place to relax and the log burner fire added to the charm and atmosphere in the evenings.

We couldn't use our mobile phones inside the cottage most likely because of the very thick walls, but we had a very good reception outside in the garden. The internet was good and the TV had an excellent reception too.

The cottage is well-equiped with everything you will need to make your stay relaxing and comfortable. It is warm, clean and very charming in a modern, yet old-worldly kind of way. We felt so relaxed from start to finish.... it was just what we needed. Loved our stay at the Barn and loved visiting the island. We didn't want to leave and really had to tear ourselves away! It's been a long time since we've left a place with a heavy heart knowing we would miss it, but you have to return to normality I guess.

Highly recommend The Barn for a tranquil, comfortable and charming base in which to view the beautiful island of Skye.

This cottage was spectacular! Location could not be beat, we were right off the trail to brothers point. We also were able to see the northern lights one night! Also communication with the owner was the best I’ve ever experienced. We told him a mattress was very uncomfortable and he had a new mattress by that afternoon! This is the best Airbnb I’ve ever stayed at. I would give 10 stars if I could.

This place is amazing! It’s everything we were looking for-authentic Scottish cottage with modern amenities. The cottage itself is thoughtfully laid out with plenty of lounging area for us around the TV and fire (we were 4 adults and 2 kids). The beds are comfortable and the bathrooms are spacious. It has a washer/dryer combo that worked well. The actual location is what makes this place spectacular. When you walk out your door there is nothing but beautiful vistas between you and the sea (as well as some friendly sheep). I’ve just left, and I already want to go back

location was spot on, close to old man of storr and the beach with the dinosaur footprints (AN CORRAN).
most of us walked down the very steep hill to the beach next to the property. This isn’t suitable for anyone with mobility issues although this isn’t anything to do with the accommodation ☺️.
There did seem to be a new path being made to go down however even if it’s stoned it will still be steep. This beach was also great for fishing from as its rocky and there was plenty of seals popping up to say hello. Brilliant views from the Barn. Great for the dog but beware there are plenty of sheep in the fields so keep dogs on the lead at all times.

One of the two bathrooms was leaking through the lounge roof, we only had the use of one bathroom for the first three days. This was then fixed but it didn't make the holiday very enjoyable with one bathroom between 6 of us. In the other bathroom the sink was not attached to the wall, which then made me question how well it had been cleaned because it would have been easily noticeable so I then cleaned everywhere, this again was fixed but should have been picked up by the cleaners. We where expecting some form of refund due to the hassle of it and obviously only having the one bathroom to use but we have yet to hear off them about this

There are sea views from most windows and we walked down the track to the local beach where there’s a little stream running into the sea, and seals swimming.

The location just off one of the most magnificent roads in Britain gives amazing views and a very convenient access to the Brothers Point where you can see stegosaurus footprints! Right close to Quirang and Storr too

The building has lots of charm but is also very high spec internally with lots of good design touches and is extremely comfortable with all creature comforts
Beds were too hard. It’s a little bit of a trek to go out for food in the evening so be prepared to eat in!

Go here if you can afford it but as you can see it’s very expensive! A lot more than the lovely B&B we stayed at last time we were in Skye. But - a different experience clearly

10/10 cannot fault this place. It has absolutely everything you could possibly think of, the location is perfect (just out of Portree but very close to Storr/Quairring) and is 10mins walk to what we adopted as a private swimming spot down by Brother's Point. The location was super - just off the main road around Skye, but along a track, with rolling countryside to look out on and lovely beachy walks nearby.
Also the house and grounds were immaculate - all spotlessly clean and tidy.
Perhaps I would have rated a little more highly if we had not just had an incredible rental experience for a week in the Hebrides - luxury property (cheaper per night than the Barn at Culnacnoc), with amazing attention to detail: full guide to house and area provided by email in advance with lots of tips (virtually nothing provided at the Barn), lovely welcome basket of milk, bread, butter, jam, local cheese, red and white wine, etc (just a bottle of wine at the Barn), everything you could possibly need in the outhouse (barbeque, body boards, wetsuits, bicycles, cricket bats and balls) etc, etc We really felt welcomed there whereas the Barn was efficient - there were no problems at all - but a little impersonal.

Bed in upstairs master bedroom not comfortable and ceilings upstairs very low…. My eighty year old mother kept banging her head on the sloping ceiling. This property is for six people and there was six of everything which is a little mean! 6 cups , 6 plates etc you never stop washing up! It was very nicely decorated but it isn’t very big and lovely as it is we did feel it was very overpriced I’m afraid.

Great stay! Walked out the door to hike to brothers point. The video tutorials on the check in tablet were very helpful. Loved the wood burning stove when the weather turned windy with rain. Great space for our family of five - close to everything, cozy and private, and the bottle of wine to greet us was a very much appreciated touch. The whole experience was wonderful…only had 2 days to stay on skye, but let us book a three day window at a 2 day rate. First class service and was the highlight of a 8 day trip through Scotland!

Very good location, close to popular viewpoints and sightseeing locations and 20-30mins drive to Portree for shopping.
The villa itself has 3 lovely rooms and the sitting room and kitchen is very pleasant (proper dining table) and fully stocked for self catering. The wood fire is very easy to use and there are great views from each room. We were a group of 3 but can easily fit 5-6. Very cosy. Many thanks

The barn was the perfect place for us to have as a base to explore Skye. Being able to come back there after a day exploring the island to relax and enjoy the evenings just helped to make the break even more special.
Our small pup loved to sit and stare out over the headland, the peace and tranquility obviously had the same effect on him as it did us!

This hideaway is amazing! It had all the things we value in a holiday home, peaceful, clean, in great condition, comfortable, well equipped kitchen and a fantastic view. Oh and the internet is good enough for streaming too! There is a lane that runs right behind the cottage, which gives access to another property or two, and is also a public footpath for Brothers Point walk, but we only saw a handful of people in our 4 days and was not an issue at all. We will definitely return one day, it’s simply fantastic!

Just returned home from a fantastic week’s stay at The Barn. The cottage is super clean, cosy and has the most incredible views. Great base for exploring the island also. We loved nothing more than coming home after a busy day of sightseeing and sitting by the wood burning stove. You feel remote as it’s so peaceful but there are houses around you and it’s only a 20 min drive into Portree where you’ll find great restaurants or a large co-op if you’d rather do a shop and cook in the cottage. We travelled with our 2 year old who loved having the sheep as neighbours. Fabulous walk on your doorstop too taking you to The Brothers Point! If you get a clear night, the view up to the stars is impressive. We will definitely be returning in the future.

A beautiful little cottage which was everything we expected it to be. Very cosy and had everything we needed. The WiFi was much better than we thought it would be! Easily facetime or zoom call family back home, or stream films etc without any issues. Kitchen was fully equipped with utensils and everything you could need for cooking. All the appliances were easy to use and Ben was just a text message away if we needed anything. The Barn is set in a rural location with great walks on the doorstep including Storr (taking in the Old man of Storr on the way, the views from the Barn are Fantastic including the chance for some stargazing we were fortunate to have some crystal clear nights and were treated to some great views. Although the Barn is set in the rural location of Culnacnoc it is not to far from Portree which has a great variety of cafes, bars and restaurants. The Barn is well equipped and very clean, we would recommend a stay in the Barn and intend a return visit ourselves.

We stayed here for 3 nights and the location is absolutely stunning. The house is very charming and perfect for getting cosy in. There were a couple of small issues with the comfort of the upstairs double bed and kitchen utensil facilities but nothing so severe that we had to contact the host during our stay. It was fine for our short stay but is something that could be improved on. The house was very clean and we arrived to a bottle of wine which was a very nice touch. We had lots of updates from the host before arriving and although the check in time is late we were allowed to check in a bit earlier if we wanted to as the house was ready for us. The house is down a country lane and tucked away, surrounded by beautiful landscape and sheep. It’s a short walk to the sea but be prepared for a steep uphill walk on the way back. It’s located on a beautiful part of the island with lots to do and see. I would recommend staying here.

A very cosy cottage with incredible views (prime location to walk to Brother’s Point). It is more closely situated to other properties than the photographs would suggest (there is one direct neighbour and probably another half a dozen properties nearby), so if you are truly looking for remote then it is not quite that! However, it is a great home away from home. Once the fire is let (dry wood permitting) the whole cottage gets very warm, which is ideal when you experience the Skye weather!
